This week, my colleague Toni Florencio and I have been in Beijing to participate in the International Conference on The Role of Internationalization Strategies in Building a World-Class University. This conference has been organized by Beihang University with the support of the Erasmus+ KA2 Capacity Building Project “WELCOME-Towards Incoming International Universities” (coordinated by the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya·BarcelocaTech). Beihang University gave me the opportunity to participate in the Opening, representing the UNESCO Chair of Higher Education Management of the UPC·BarcelonaTech. Moreover, we have the opportunity to present the project and its outputs in a plenary session. Several people were very interested in the project, and we answered several questions about its status.

There were some very interesting key speakers, such as Ulrich Teichler (Professor at the International Centre for Higher Education Research and the Department of Social Science, University of Kassel, Germany), Anthony Welch (Professor at School of Education and Social Work, the University of Sydney, Australia), and Futao Huang| Professor at the Research Institute for Higher Education, Hiroshima University, Japan. Moreover, some of our colleagues of the WELCOME project also made some great presentations, such as Rui Mendes from IST (Lisbon, Portugal) and Andrew Wachtel from Narxoz University (Kazakhstan).
