Hi everyone,

Eva Gallardo-Gallardo and I have collaborated in the organization of the 6th Workshop on Talent Management hold in Barcelona. Following on from the five previous highly successful workshops that were held in Brussels in 2012 and 2013, Berlin in 2014, Valencia in 2015, and Copenhagen in 2016, this workshop has continued providing a forum for academic debate on the rapidly growing field of talent management.

Talent Management has established itself as one of the key priorities for C-suite executives and HR professionals alike. However, HR professionals continue to struggle to deliver on the talent agenda. This workshop is designed to bring together leading and emerging scholars working from a range of disciplines in the area of talent management with the intention of developing theoretical and empirical work which can contribute to this rapidly emerging area of study.

In this edition of the workshop, renowned researchers on talent management have participated in the workshop, such as Professor Vlad Vaiman (California Lutheran University, U.S.A), Professor Hugh Sculllion (Hull University, UK), Professor Wayne Cascio (University of Colorado, USA), Marian Thunnissen (Hogeschool Fontys, Netherlands), Prof. Anthony Mcdonnell (Cork University Business School, Ireland), and Professor B. Sebastian Reiche, (IESE Business School, Spain).

It has been an excellent workshop where the discussion of the works has been highlighted by their quality and abundance. A unique forum where researchers have been able to present their projects and where they have been able to discuss and receive feedback that will certainly help them in their projects. In few environments, I have been able to observe such a high level of interaction between speakers and assistants. I’m already waiting for the next edition of the workshop.
